Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Secure vehicle on vehicle lift.

Remove check strap of propeller shaft.

 Bolt, retaining bracket to frame floor assembly

Detach propeller shaft from transmission and fasten at side on substructure.

Unscrew nut (3) and remove output flange (2).

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (1).



Gear oils (Sheet 235.10)

 Installation: Replace radial shaft seal (1). Clean seat of radial shaft sealing ring (1) and coat sealing lip with transmission oil before installing.

Install in the reverse order.



Check

Remove oil filler screw (4) and check transmission oil level; correct if necessary.



 The automatic transmission fluid must be level with the filler hole.

Tighten oil filler screw (4).
