2 | Remove the bolts (1), the side cover (2) and the gasket (3) | ||
3 | Remove the needle bearing (5). | | |

4 | Remove the outside races (6, 7) of the input shaft and countershaft bearings | | |

5 | Remove the oil filler plug and oil drain plug (9, 10) | ||
6 | Remove the bolts (12) and the cover (11) | ||
7 | Remove the reverse gear switch (8). | ||

Danger! | Risk of injuries by burns | When handling heated-up components, use adequate protection equipment. | |
8 | Install the outside races (6, 7) of the input shaft and countershaft bearings | With the help of a hot air gun, heat the gearbox case to a temperature around 100 °C in the area of the bearing races and install them utilizing an appropriated drift. | |
In this phase, install the bearing outside race of the countershaft without compensating washer to permit the later axial clearance adjustment of this shaft. | |||
9 | Assemble the needle bearing (5). | Heat up the gearbox case in the area of the bearing installation and install it with an appropriate drift. | |
10 | Install the side cover (2). | When installing, utilize new fastening bolts and a new sealing gasket. Do not install the gearbox left side cover (drive position), as this will have to be open to permit adjusting the countershaft's axial clearance. | |

11 | Install the cover (11). | | |
12 | Fasten the oil filler plug and oil drain plug (9, 10) | | |
