Danger! | Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with brake fluid. | Pour brake fluid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.
| Notes on handling brake fluid | All models | |
1 | Unscrew cap of reservoir | The reservoir for the hydraulic fluid is located behind the fuel filler flap on left side of vehicle.
2 | Connect bleeder unit to reservoir | Fill bleeder unit with clutch fluid.
The pressure in the bleeder unit must not be higher than 1.0 bar and should not drop below 0.5 bar. The bleed valves of the master cylinder and clutch booster (4) must be closed.
3 | Remove dust cap at reservoir and close pressure-tight
4 | Remove dust cap at bleed valve (1) of clutch booster (4)
5 | Connect bleed hose of bleeder unit to bleed valve (1) of clutch booster (4)
6 | Open bleed valve and continue operating bleed unit until clean clutch fluid, free of bubbles, flows out
7 | Tighten bleed valve (1), detach bleed hose and fit dust cap onto bleed valve (1)
8 | Inspect lines, bleed valves, master cylinder and clutch booster (4) for leaks | Bleeder unit must be connected and be at operating pressure.
9 | Disconnect bleeder unit from reservoir
10 | Close cap of reservoir
11 | Check operation of clutch | If clutch is stiff to operate or does not operate at all, repeat bleeding process of clutch mechanism. |
