Remove

Engine or transmission removal

 After assembly and accessing, choose the procedure indication.

Install the mounting device on the clutch plate (1)

Remove bolts (2), remove the clutch plate (1) upwards, together with the mounting device, and remove the clutch disc (7)

 Loosen the bolts (2) in a cross pattern, in short steps, to avoid unilateral load over the clutch pressure plate (1).

Remove the mounting device

Check the coupling parts for wear and damage

Cleaning

Clean the grooves on the clutch disc (7) and on the gearbox main shaft hub


The nickel-plated clutch disc surface (7) must not be lubricated
Otherwise the clutch disc can get stuck

Clean the sliding sleeve on the clutch device with release bearing (4) and the guide tube on the gearbox

Clean the guide bearing (5) on the engine flywheel (6)



Install

Insert the centering pin (3) on the guide bearing (5) on the engine flywheel (6)

Centralize the clutch disc (7) through the centering pin (3) on the engine flywheel (6)

Install the mounting device on the clutch plate (1)

 Before installing the new clutch plate (1), check whether the diaphragm spring latches sit correctly on the clutch device with release bearing (4).

Install the clutch pressure plate (1) with the mounting device through the centering pin (3)

Tighten screws (2) crosswise in small steps

 While tightening, check constantly if the centering pin (3) can still be easily displaced.

Remove the mounting device

Remove the centralizing pin (3)

Install the engine or the gearbox

Connect Star Diagnosis

Reprogram once again the clutch stroke on the driver's tuning control module (FR)

 Only for vehicles without Code (GE3) Mercedes PowerShift.

Reprogram the gear control module (GS)

Vehicles 934.241/251 with Code GE3 (Mercedes PowerShift), Code GS7 (Gear distribution II) except Code GE2 (Electronic actuation command II) and Vehicles 958 Code GE3 (Mercedes PowerShift).
