2 | Thoroughly clean engine water cooling fan solenoid valve (Y5) | ||
| Disassemble/assemble | ||
3 | Clamp engine water cooling fan solenoid valve (Y5) into a vise | ||
4 | Remove protective cap (1). | The adjustment screw (2) may not be adjusted. The engine water cooling fan solenoid valve (Y5) must be replaced otherwise. | |
5 | Unscrew knurled nut (3) | Assembly: Tighten knurled nut (3) by hand. | |
6 | Remove O-ring (4) | ||
7 | Remove solenoid (5) | ||
8 | Remove pilot valve (6) from insert (7) | ||
9 | Remove insert (7) from housing (10) | ||
10 | Remove spring (8) and control plunger (9) from housing (10) | ||
11 | Remove housing (10) from vise | ||
| Clean | ||
12 | Clean all parts with compressed air | Use safety glasses. Attention must be paid to the utmost cleanliness when working on the engine water cooling fan solenoid valve (Y5). Check all parts for wear and damage. Replace the complete engine water cooling fan solenoid valve (Y5) in case of wear or damage. | |
Assembly: Slightly lubricate all components before assembly. | |||

15 | Test hydraulic fan drive | Only check fan speed on the RH engine radiator. |
