Detaching and attaching coolant hoses/lines at engine

Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

1 Remove vent hose of cooling circuit (1) between engine and expansion reservoir (2).

2 Remove coolant pipe (3) between thermostat and radiator.

3 Remove coolant hose (4) between water pump and radiator.

Glance through open right rear maintenance flap

4 Remove coolant hoses and pipes (5) between engine and retarder.

5 Remove coolant pipe (arrow) between stationary heater and retarder.

6 Remove coolant hoses and pipes (6) with bracket (7) between engine and retarder.

7 Install in reverse sequence.
