Remove belt pulley/vibration damper

Detach hydraulic pump fan (6)

Press hydraulic pump fan (6) away from the cylinder crankcase, do not lift out.

Remove oil pan (7)

Remove oil dipstick guide tube (8), bracket (10) and oil suction pipe (9)

Remove oil pump housing (1) with oil pump (13)

Do not damage sealing surfaces.

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (3)

Use a suitable drift.

Remove O-ring (11) on connection fitting

Disassemble

Disassemble oil pump (13) and check for wear

Only for an excessively low engine oil pressure. To do this, remove oil pump (13) from oil pump housing (1), disassemble and check for wear.

If wear is found in the oil pump housing (1), oil pump drive, external rotor (15) or internal rotor (14), then the oil pump housing (1) and oil pump (13) must be replaced.

Assemble

Assemble oil pump (13)

Only if no wear is found.

Checking

Check the crankshaft (2) at the sealing surface of radial shaft sealing ring (3) for galling

In case of galling:

Replace crankshaft (2).

Install O-ring (11) on connection fitting

Install oil pump housing (1)

Coat sealing surfaces with Loctite sealant 5970

Align the drive gear of the oil pump drive with drive gear (12) of crankshaft (2).

Install oil dipstick guide tube (8), bracket (10) and oil suction pipe (9)

Ensure unstressed installation.

Clean sieve on oil suction pipe (9).
