Oil pan drain plug

Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Park the vehicle in a leveled area and mark its position

After the test drive, the vehicle must be parked in the same position.

Turn off the engine and check eventual lubricant oil leaks

Correct the irregularities.

With the engine cold or at least 5 minutes after having turned it off, check and if necessary replenish the lubricant oil level in the oil pan

Supply up to the upper mark (max.) of the measuring dipstick.

Do not exceed the maximum level.

Prepare an adequate recipient to collect the engine lubricant oil

Weight the empty recipient and take note in the measuring form (weight in grams).

Run the engine until it reaches operating temperature, then shut it down

Coolant temperature from 80 to 95 °C.

Put the prepared recipient under the oil pan, remove the plug and drain the heated lubricant oil


Take care with the skin and eyes. Use the required safety equipment (PPE),
due to high temperature of the engine lubricating oil

Do not use the suction process.

Let the oil flow into the clean recipient for 20 minutes.

Install the draining plug in the oil pan

Install a new sealing washer.

Weight the recipient with lubricant oil and take note in the measurement form

Take note of the container weight filled with oil in the field “before the measuring test drive” (weight in grams).

Supply the oil pan with the lubricant oil that had been weighted (from the recipient), through the supply mouth.

Do not allow any loss of oil due to leakage or significant quantity of oil remaining in the recipient.

Supply the fuel reservoir up to 2 cm below the supply mouth and mark the exact height of the fuel level

Take note in the measurement form the vehicle's mileage before the measurement test drive

Carry out the lubricant oil measuring test drive

The measuring test drive of at least 2000 Km.
During the consumption measurement trip, the oil level must not be replenished. Except in the cases that it is below the minimum level mark, due to the excessively high consumption or a too long trip

After the measurement test drive, park the vehicle in the same place it was prepared

In the place marked for the vehicle's preparation (same position).

Run the engine until it reaches operating temperature, then shut it down
