Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Remove/install

Disconnect ground line of battery

Remove front section of front right fender

AR88.10-W-1500RE

Detension basic belt drive poly-V belt and place to one side

AR13.21-W-2000S

Remove basic belt drive poly-V belt individual tensioning device

AR13.25-W-4015S

Remove ground line (1) on alternator (G2)

 Bolt, ground line to alternator

Remove cable tie, unlock electrical connection (2) with securing clamp and disconnect at alternator (G2)

 Installation: In addition secure safety clamp with a cable tie.

Detach electric line (3) from alternator (G2)

 Nut, electrical line to alternator terminal B+

Remove alternator (G2) at carrier and remove between the charge air pipe and frame

 Bolt connecting alternator to carrier

 Bolt/nut connecting alternator to carrier

Check

Check belt pulley of alternator (G2) for damage and concentricity and replace if necessary

 Nut, belt pulley to alternator

Install in the reverse order

Start engine and perform an engine test run
