Remove ground line from battery

Remove expansion reservoir and place to one side

 Do not extract coolant; do not remove coolant hoses.

Unscrew nut (1)

Remove charge air line (2) from connection

Unscrew nut (3) on starter (M1)

 Nut, supply line to starter

Remove front left section of fender liner in fender

Remove connecting strut (4)

 Screw/bolt, side connecting strut to body and front crossmember

Remove lower engine compartment paneling

Take off vent line (5)

 Installation: Check retaining clip; inspect and, if necessary, replace.

Separate electrical connections (6)

Remove screw/bolts (7) of starter (M1)

 Screw/bolt, starter to transmission housing

Remove starter (M1) from below

 To do this press front coolant hose somewhat to the side.

Install in the reverse order
