Disconnect battery ground cable

Remove bottom engine compartment paneling

Dismount cable holder (1a) from starter (M1)

Unscrew bolts (4) and pull starter (M1) with connected lines slightly forwards

Pull out protective cap (1) and dismantle electrical connection circuit 30 (2) at starter (M1)

Dismount electrical connection circuit 50 (3) at starter (M1) and remove starter from below

Checking

7.1

Check the starter ring gear at the drive plate for wear and damage

When replacing the starter (M1)

Rotate engine at the center bolt of the crankshaft in the direction of rotation.
