Remove protection against accidental contact (1), undo nuts (2, 3) and remove electrical wiring harness (4) from the starter (M1)

Unscrew bolts (5) and remove starter (M1)

Inspect ring gear of flywheel or of drive plate for wear and damage

When replacing the starter (M1).

Crank engine at belt pulley.
