1 Loosen wiring harness (1) in the area of the engine cover (3) on the coolant pipe (2).
2 Remove engine trim panel (3)

3 Disconnect electrical connector (4) to oil level sensor.
4 Contact and disconnect electrical plug (5, 6) on MR control unit (A38).
5 Expose electrical wiring harness (8) and pull into the vehicle interior.

(arrow B) is fitted with a blind plug.

6 Remove cap on electrical plug (5).
7 Remove blind plug in pin 12 of the electrical plug (5) and pin in the electrical line bl/red (9) of the electrical wiring harness (11).
8 Remove blind plug in pin 51 of the electrical plug (5) and pin in the electrical line bl/red (13) of the electrical wiring harness (11).
9 Attach cap to electrical plug (5).

10 Route electrical wiring harness (11) together with electrical wiring harness (8) and attach using cable ties.
Route electrical wiring harnesses (8, 11) over the whole length to the metering device, tension-free and chafe-free.
11 Attach and lock electrical plug (5, 6) on MR control unit (A38).
12 Connect electrical connector (4)

13 Attach electrical connector (14) to electrical wiring harness (11) on heating element (R28) for metering device (15).
In the case of overlengths of the electrical connectors (11) route in loops in tension-free and chafe-free.
