Remove/install

1

Disconnect ground line from battery.

 See information from body manufacturer.

Remove injection line of the exhaust aftertreatment system.

Only for BlueTEC.

 Installation: Replace injection line after each removal.

Remove compressed-air line (2) at engine brake cylinder (6).

Only with constant throttle.

Remove heat shield (3).

 Bolt, shield to turbocharger and flap fitting

Remove exhaust pipe (4) at engine brake valve fitting (5) and at bracket.

 Installation: Check clamp for wear.
Observe installation position of clamp. For an actuated engine brake the lever of the engine brake valve fitting (5) must not come into contact with clamp.

 Bolt, clamp to exhaust pipe on valve fitting for engine brake/exhaust fitting

If necessary,



Replace clamp.

Remove engine brake valve fitting (5) together with engine brake cylinder (6).

 Installation: Replace nut.

 Nut, engine brake valve fitting to turbocharger

Check engine brake valve fitting (5) for wear.

If necessary,



repair engine brake valve fitting (5).
