Danger!

Risk of injury caused by pinching or crushing when working on springs or spring bodies that are under load

Use only approved tensioning devices; shield off hazard area if necessary.
Inspect special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection).
Wear protective gloves.

Remove front grille

Remove front bumper

Disconnect connector on outside temperature sensor, left on bumper.

Loosen radiator unit and pull to the front

Installation: Align radiator unit.

Swivel poly-V belt tensioning device (4) at tensioner pulley (3) with breaker bar and socket against spring force

Only swivel poly-V belt tensioning device (4) against spring force otherwise tensioner pulley (3) bolt will loosen.

Remove poly-V belt (1) from poly-V belt tensioning device (4) tensioner pulley (3)

Swivel back poly-V belt tensioning device (4) and remove poly-V belt (1)

Do not kink poly-V belt (1) during removal otherwise it will be damaged.

Checking

Inspect poly V-belt (1), replace if necessary

Check vibration damper (5), poly-V belt tensioning device (4) using tensioner pulley (3), alternator belt pulley (2) and coolant pump belt pulley for damage and smooth operation

If components are worn or damaged:

Replace vibration damper (5)
