Remove/install

Open engine hood and raise to vertical position

Installation: Close engine hood only after performing leak test.

Remove charge air hose (red) (7)

The charge air hoses (7, 11) must not get mixed up, only the charge air hose (red) (7) is temperature-resistant.

Remove charge air hose (black) (11)

Top up radiator (1) from below

Remove charge air cooler (2) from cooler mounts (6) on left and right

Remove air deflector shields (3, 4, 5) on radiator (1) and on air deflector shields (9, 10)

Do not separate air deflector shields (3, 4, 5).

Pull air deflector shields (3, 4, 5) up and out

Remove bolts (8)

Pull charge air cooler (2) up and out

Do not damage radiator (1), coolant hoses, fan or detachable parts.

On vehicles with code (N55) Transmission oil cooling: Do not damage transmission oil hoses at bottom of radiator (1).

Installation: Align charge air cooler (2) with radiator (1).

Check radiator mounts (6) for wear

Replace radiator mounts (6) if necessary.

Install in the reverse order

Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Charge engine and check charge air hoses (7, 11) for leakage with engine running, shut off engine

Visual inspection.
