Check axial play on rotor shaft
1 Attach dial indicator (3) and extension (2) to dial indicator holder (4).
2 Attach dial indicator holder (4) to level surface on carrier (5) of air filter.
3 Align tip of extension (2) and dial indicator (3) with pretension of 5 mm on rotor shaft (1) and position.
4 Press rotor shaft (1) in an axial direction all the way and hold.
5 Set scale of dial indicator (3) to "0".
6 Pull rotor shaft (1) in the opposite direction all the way and hold.
7 Read off measurement value at the dial indicator (3).
The measurement is the axial play on the rotor shaft (1).

Check radial play for rotor shaft
8 Press compressor impeller (6) in radial direction until it makes contact in the direction of the compressor housing (7) and determine the smallest play between the compressor impeller (6) and compressor housing (7) using a feeler gauge (8).
9 Press compressor impeller (6) in the opposite direction all the way and determine the largest play between the compressor impeller (6) and compressor housing (7) using a feeler gauge (8).
Conduct both measurements at the same location on the compressor housing (7) and on the same blade of the compressor impeller (6).
10 The difference between the two measurement results gives the radial play of the rotor shaft (1).
