Danger! | Risk of accident by the accidental movement when the engine is operating. Risk of injury by being smashed and burns due to contact during the start up procedure or with the engine in operation | Ensure that the vehicle is prevented to make any non-voluntary movement. Use closed and well tight work clothes. Do not touch heated or moving parts. | |
1 | Disconnect the battery's negative wire or shutdown the general switch. | Unfasten the negative longitudinal girder cable bolt avoiding to unfasten it at the battery's terminals. | |
2 | Tilt the hood and lock it with the safety lock. | ||
3 | Release the clamp and disconnect the air compressor intake hose (4). | Install: Check the condition of the hose and clamp, if necessary replace them. | |
4 | Unfasten the clamp (3) at the place of the turbocharger (1), at the intermediate plastic box (5) and remove the flexible tubes (2). | Install: Check the flexible tubes condition (2) and the clamps (3), if necessary, replace them. | |
Cover the turbocharger mouth with an appropriate plastic cap. | |||
5 | If necessary, remove the intermediate plastic box (5). | Remove the bolts (6) that fasten the box to the longitudinal member. | |
Install: Pay attention to the moderate tightening of the bolts (6) at the plastic flaps of the intermediate box. | |||
6 | Install in the reverse order. | During the installation, take care to have all the components of the tubes totally clean. | |
7 | Check the air filter's condition. | Replace the filtering element. | |
8 | Actuate the engine and check its tightness. |
