Open rear left maintenance flap

 Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Disconnect ground cable of battery

Open rear engine compartment flap

 Installation: Do not close rear engine compartment flap yet.

Remove engine compartment flap below last row of seats

Remove charge air manifold

Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel and risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel.

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Only pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Remove MR/PLD (1) injection lines

 Seal holes at pressure pipe connection and at MR/PLD unit pump.

 Installation: Tighten pressure screw (2) on pressure pipe connection.
Observe installation position of MR/PLD injection lines (1)



Install in the reverse order

Bleed fuel system

 Operate fuel priming pump until a strong backpressure is felt.



Checking

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Start engine and inspect fuel system for leaks

 If the engine does not start after 30 s, wait 1 min. before repeating attempt at starting.

Turn off engine
