Setting (adjustment range up to 2°)

1 Slightly slacken bolts (1) of the injection pump.

2 Slightly slacken bolt of angle bracket (2).

3 Turn injection pump sufficiently until the pointer in the inspection hole (3) is pointing exactly to the middle of the mark in the marked area.

The slots in the injection pump housing make it possible to turn injection pump by as much as approx. 2°.

4 Tighten bolts of injection pump (1).

5 Tighten bolt of angle bracket (2).

Setting (adjustment range more than 2°)

6 Use the cranking device to crank the engine and slacken the bolts (5) at the drive bevel gear of the injection pump one after the other, with the exception of one bolt.

Detach end cover (4) from timing case for this step, take off gasket, inspect, replace if necessary.

7 Continue cranking engine until the pointer in the inspection hole (3) is pointing exactly to the middle of the mark in the marked area.

8 Slacken last bolt (5) at drive bevel gear of injection pump.

9 Crank engine in direction rotation sufficiently until the specified start of delivery marking on the flywheel is aligned with the edge in the inspection hole (3).

10 Tighten bolts at drive bevel gear off injection pump (5) fully.

To do this, crank engine with the aid of the cranking device.

11 Coat contact surface of the end cover (4) with sealing compound, fit on gasket and install end cover .

12 Tighten bolts of injection pump (1) fully.

13 Tighten bolt of angle bracket (2) fully.
