2 | Remove engine cover | Installation: Ensure correct seating of the engine cover. | |
3 | Pull CDI control unit (N3/9) out of rubber mount | Installation: Ensure correctly seating of the CDI control unit (N3/9). | |
4 | Disconnect electrical connections (1, 2) on CDI control unit (N3/9) | ||
5 | Unclip engine wiring harness (3) on CDI control unit (N3/9) and remove CDI control unit (N3/9) | ||
6 | Unscrew spherical head fitting (4) from the CDI control unit (N3/9) | When replacing the CDI control unit (N3/9) | |
7 | Install in the reverse order | ||
8 | Read in variant coding using STAR DIAGNOSIS | When replacing the CDI control unit (N3/9) | |

Transfer the stored variant coding of the previously installed CDI control unit (N3/9) to the new CDI control unit (N3/9) using STAR DIAGNOSIS. | |||
9 | Start up CDI control unit (N3/9) using STAR DIAGNOSIS | When replacing the CDI control unit (N3/9) | |

The CDI control unit (N3/9) must be adjusted to the vehicle using STAR DIAGNOSIS, in menu item "Commissioning". | |||
