1 Measure the outside diameter (A) of the removed valve guides (1) with a vernier caliper (2), and determine the deviation.
2 Set the dial indicator (3) and quick gauge for inside measurements (4) to the measured outside diameter (A) using micrometer gauge (5) of the removed valve guides (1), then set dial indicator (3) to "0".
Set dial indicator (3) and a suitable quick gauge for inside measurements (4) with an additional preload of 5 mm.

3 Clean valve guide bore in the cylinder head (6) using the cylinder brush (7).
4 Measure diameter of bore (B) in cylinder head (6) using quick gauge for inside measurements (4) and dial indicator (3).
Take two measurements of the bore, the second measurement offset by 90°.
If the measured value is within the standard or Deviation value, a new valve guide with the same Deviation can be installed.
If the measured value is outside the standard or Deviation value, the bore in the cylinder head (6) must be reamed to the next Deviation value, and a new valve guide with the corresponding deviation value installed.
If the maximum deviation is exceeded, the cylinder head (6) must be replaced.
