Depicted on relief valve
1 | Install the comparison clock (1) on the holder (2) and position it with pre-tension on the flat surface of the head (3). |
2 | Set comparison clock scale (1) to "0". |
3 | Displace the holder (2) until the comparison clock (1) is supported upon the relief valve (4). |
4 | Read the measured value in the comparison clock scale (1). |
The measured value read is the valve retreat (K), which must be within the allowed range. |
5 | Perform the same measurement procedure in the remaining inlet and relief valves (4). |

6 | Place the holder (5) on the flat surface of the head (3) and install the comparison clock (1) with extension (8) on the holder (5) in such a manner that the pin of the comparison clock feeler (1) is located on the edge of the inlet valve stem (7). . |
Position the comparison clock (1) with pre-tension on the edge of the inlet valve stem (7). |
7 | Set comparison clock scale (1) to "0". |

8 | Move the holder (5) with comparison clock (1) over the head (3) until the pin of the comparison clock feeler (1) is located on the edge of the inlet valve stem (6). |
During this displacement, pull up the pin of the comparison clock feeler (1). |
9 | Read the measured value in the comparison clock scale (1) . |
The measured value read provides the difference (J) between inlet valves (6, 7). |
10 | Perform the same measurement procedure in the remaining inlet and valves (6, 7). |
