Remove camshaft positioner

Remove coolant pump

To remove the right timing chain (1)

Remove shutoff valve

To remove the left timing chain (2)

Remove firewall cover on crankcase

To remove the left timing chain (2)

 The firewall cover is located on the crankcase in front of the gear (6).

 Bolt, firewall cover to crankcase

Remove left timing chain (1) or right timing chain (2) from gear (5) or gear (6)

 Installation:
Check for correct seating of the timing chains (1, 2) on gears (5, 6).
This can cause engine damage otherwise.

Remove left timing chain (1) or right timing chain (2) upwards

Install in the reverse order

Check engine oil level; correct if necessary


