Removing

Remove flywheel (2)

Center drill ring gear (1), unclip using a chisel and remove from flywheel (2)

Clean

Clean ring gear (1) contact surface on flywheel (2)

Checking

Check overlap between new
ring gear (1) and flywheel (2)

For this purpose:

Measure flywheel diameter (B) for receiving the new ring gear (1).

Measure ring gear inside diameter of new ring gear (1).

Calculate overlap.

Heat new ring gear (1)

For example using a hot plate or heating oven.

Press new ring gear (1) onto the flywheel (2) as far as the contact surface

With the aid of a suitable drift.

Check radial runout of the new ring gear (1)

Bore out core bores for the inside thread (M101,5) through the existing inside threads in the flywheel (2) in the new ring gear (1)

Only perform for a flywheel with diameter
403 mm (2.1).

Cut inside thread (M101,5) in the core holes in the ring gear (1)

Only perform for a flywheel with diameter
403 mm (2.1).

Install flywheel (2)
