1 | Remove the engine flywheel (1) |
| |
| Check | ||
2 | Check the flywheel (1) friction surface for burned spots, stretch marks or cracks | If the burned spots or stretch marks are barely visible, the flywheel (1) can be machined. If the stretch marks or cracks are clearly visible or palpable, the fly (1) should be replaced.
3 | Measure the minimum thickness of the flywheel between the friction surface and the supporting flange (E) on the flywheel (1) | If the value is out of tolerance, the flywheel should be replaced (1).
.Minimum allowable distance between the friction surface and the contact surface with the crankshaft
Machining | |||
4 | Machine the clutch friction surface on the flywheel (1) using a lathe for brake drums and discs machining | After machining, the clutch friction surface cannot show flaws or tool marks.
