Risk of injury to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing engine oil

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

Remove

Remove flywheel.

Cover crankshaft with a lint-free dry cloth.

Press out radial shaft sealing ring (2) using the pry bar (1).

Clean timing case in the area of the removed radial shaft sealing ring (2) and flywheel flange or ring gear carrier flange.

Check tread of the radial shaft sealing ring (2) on the flywheel flange or on the race.

If galling is present on the flywheel flange or race,



mount new race.

Install

Wet new radial shaft sealing ring (2) on the inner sealing lip with engine oil.

 Install new radial shaft sealing ring (2) on the outer surface dry.

Install radial shaft sealing ring (2) with the insertion device (3).

For a flywheel without race

Check radial shaft sealing ring (2) for damage and correct installation position through a visual check.

If problems exist,



replace radial shaft sealing ring (2).

Install flywheel.
