 	Remove/install
 Danger	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
1	Remove intake air distribution pipe	Detach and attach the intake air distribution pipe MODEL 163	AR09.10-P-1250CD
2	Attach engine support frame and lift engine	Typ163
		 Ensure that the engine does not make contract with the body. Injection, fuel, and coolant lines as well as electric lines must not be damaged.
		Engine hoist for ML-Class.
		
		Base frame engine support frame.
3.1	Remove bottom section of soundproofing	Model 220

3.2	Remove soundproofing	MODEL 163

4	Detach oil sensor plug (oil level, temperature, and quality) (B40)
5	Drain/collect engine oil	 Oil drain screw to oil pan	*BA01.45-P-1003-01F

6	Unscrew hydraulic lines (4) from axle carrier (5)	Model 163/220
7	Unscrew bracket of bottom right charge air pipe from oil pan bottom section (1)	Model 163/220
8	Remove screws (2) from oil pan bottom section (1)	 Self-tapping screw, oil pan bottom section to oil pan	*BA01.45-P-1002-01F
9	Remove oil pan bottom section (1)
	Notes on sealant path for oil pan	Typ 163/220	AH01.45-P-0001-01C
		 Pry off oil pan (see arrow).
		 Installation: Remove sealing residues from oil pan bottom section (1) and cylinder crankcase. Pay attention to sealant path on oil pan bottom section (1).

10	Remove oil level sensor		AR18.40-P-5111M
		 Oil sensor (oil level, temperature and quality) (B40).
11	Install in the reverse order
