Remove/install

Remove flywheel and/or drive plate.

Remove clamp (8) with electric line (6) of oil level check switch (S43) from oil pan top section (1).

Remove oil pan bottom section (7).

Remove clamp (9) with electrical connector from oil pan top section (1).

Remove screws (5).

 Bolt, timing case cover to crankcase/cylinder head/oil pan top section

Remove screws/bolts (3).

 Bolt, oil pan top section to crankcase/lower crankcase section

Remove screws/bolts (2).

 Installation: Pay attention to different lengths of screws/bolts.

 Bolt, oil pan top section to crankcase/lower crankcase section

Screw screws M6x60 into threaded pusher bores (4) and press off oil pan top section (1) from crankcase via alternately screwing in screws.


Carefully screw in M6x60 screw/bolts.
Oil pan top section (1) and contact surface at crankcase will otherwise be damaged.

Remove screws M6x60 for pressing off oil pan top section (1) from threaded pusher bores (4).



Clean

Clean sealing surfaces at oil pan top section (1) and crankcase.

Do not use sharp-edged tools.
Sealing surfaces will otherwise be damaged.

 To achieve a better detachment of the sealant, heat sealing surface of oil pan top section (1).

 Installation: Apply sealant to sealing surface of oil pan top section (1).
Observe sealant path.
