Remove/install

Drain engine oil

Remove filler pipe (3) at oil pan (1)

 Installation: Check sealing ring.

In case of a complaint



Replace sealing ring.

Disconnect oil suction pipe upper part (4) at oil suction pipe lower part (5)

 Installation: Check clutch.

In case of a complaint



Replace connector .

Remove electrical engine wiring harness (2) on the front oil pan (1)

 Screw/bolt, engine wiring harness to oil pan

Disconnect electrical connection on engine oil fill level sensor (B605)

Remove oil pan (1)



Tightening procedure

 Screw/bolts are secured against falling out in the oil pan (1).

 Screw/bolt, oil pan to crankcase

Remove seal (9)

In case of seal (9) with tabs (B)

 Installation: Insert new seal (9) exactly in the groove of the oil pan (1), while observing the installation position of the tabs (B).

Remove seal (10)

In case of seal (10) with spacers (C)



 Installation:
When installed, the two sealing lips (D) of seal (10) must bear against the crankcase (6), the front housing cover (7) and the timing case (8).
Otherwise, there may be a loss of oil.

 Installation: Insert new seal (10), with the two sealing lips (D) pointing upwards, exactly in the groove of the oil pan (1).

Carefully remove old sealant and clean sealing surfaces on oil pan (1), timing case (8), crankcase (6) and front housing cover (7)


Do not damage sealing surfaces.
Otherwise, there may be a loss of oil.

 Installation: Apply new sealant to the connecting points (A) for the timing case (8) and the front housing cover (7).

Remove engine oil fill level sensor (B605) on the oil pan (1)

Only when replacing the oil pan (1).

 Installation: Replace sealing ring on engine oil fill level sensor (B605).

Remove oil suction pipe lower part (5)

Only when replacing the oil pan (1).

 Installation: Replace sealing ring on oil suction pipe lower part (5).

Install in the reverse order

Check/correct engine oil level

Start engine and perform an engine test run

 Allow engine to idle; oil pressure must have built up after 10 s, then run the engine at slightly increased rpms.

14

Turn off engine and check area of oil pan (1) for leaks

 Visual inspection.
