Unhook purge valve (5)

Detach bracket for refrigerant line (6) at left front cover and bracket for A/C compressor

When removal the left oil separator (1)

Detach refrigerant line (6) at A/C compressor and place to one side

 Bolt, refrigerant line to refrigerant compressor

Remove screw/bolts (7) and detach vent line (8) at left cylinder head cover

When removal the left oil separator (1)

 Bolt, vent line to cylinder head cover/turbocharger

Detach engine wiring harness (9) at left cylinder head cover and crankcase

When removal the left oil separator (1)

Detach engine wiring harness (9) at right oil separator (1) and crankcase

Detach bleed line (10) at right oil separator (1)

Detach vent line at left oil separator (1)

Disconnect electrical connections (11)

Remove screw/bolt (12), lift clamp and remove purge line (14)

When removal the right oil separator (1)

 Installation: Replace seal.

 Clamp, boot to exhaust gas turbocharger/air filter

Remove screw/bolts (19) and detach bracket for fuel line at left cylinder head cover and left cylinder head

When removal the left oil separator (1)

Remove shutoff valve

Unscrew screws/bolts (20)

 Installation: Replace screw/bolts (20).

 Bolt, oil separator to chain case cover

Remove left or right oil separator (1) upwards

 Installation:
Observe installation position of the seals.
Non-observance of the installation position leads to leakage.


The vent line (21) must not be detached from the right or left oil separator (1).
The vent line (21) and the right or left oil separator (1) will be damaged otherwise.

 Installation: Replace seals.

Install in the reverse order

Check engine oil level; correct if necessary


