1 | Open engine compartment flap | ||
2 | Detach engine compartment paneling under auxiliary heater | ||
| Remove and install bottom engine compartment paneling | ||
3 | Close shutoff valve (1) | Prevent auxiliary heater from being accidentally switched on. If the auxiliary heater is switched on with shutoff valve (1) closed, the auxiliary heater can be damaged. | |
4 | Unscrew filter cartridge (3) from filter head (2) | Collect escaping fuel in a suitable container. Dispose of filter cartridge (3) in an environmentally acceptable manner. | |
5 | Carefully fill new filter cartridge (3) with clean fuel | ||
6 | Screw new filter cartridge (3) on to filter head (2) | Lightly grease sealing ring and tighten new filter cartridge (3) by hand. | |
7 | Open shutoff valve (1) | ||
8 | Perform function test of auxiliary heater | ||
9 | Check filter cartridge (3) for leaks | ||
10 | Attach engine compartment paneling under auxiliary heater | ||
| Remove and install bottom engine compartment paneling | ||
11 | Close engine compartment flap |
