The following indicator lamps, where installed, must be on:
Preglow/immobilizer (diesel engines) (1)
immobilizer (gasoline engines) (2)
battery charge (3)
engine oil pressure (4)
engine oil level (5)
brake fluid/brake lining wear (6)
parking brake (7)
coolant level (8)
antilock brake system (ABS) (9)
automatic brake differential (ABD) (10)
automatic transmission control unit (11)
bulb failure control (12)
air suspension (13)
supplemental restraint system (SRS) (14)
windshield washer fluid tank (15)
fuel reserve
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After a few seconds the following indicator lamps go off:
Preglow/immobilizer (diesel engines) (1)
immobilizer (gasoline engines) (2)
antilock brake system (ABS) (9)
automatic brake differential (ABD) (10)
automatic transmission control unit (11)
bulb failure control (12)
air suspension (13)
supplemental restraint system (SRS) (14)
windshield washer fluid tank (15)
fuel reserve
After reaching the required start temperature the indicator lamps for preglow/immobilizer (diesel engines) (1) also goes out.
If a system error occurs the relevant indicator lamp comes on and stays on or the error is displayed in the display (on-board computer).

2 Start engine.
All indicator lamp except the parking brake (7) must go out.
If the oil level in the engine is too low or the fluid level in the brake system, cooling system and windshield washer tank is too low the relevant indicator lamp is permanently on.
3 Check all other indicator lamps.
Switch the relevant mode switches on and off or switch the relevant equipment on and off.
For example:
Turn signal indicator lamp (16)
high beams (17)
hazard warning system
front fog lamp (in rotary light switch)
rear fog lamp (in rotary light switch).
