Checking

Remove center piece of noise encapsulation

 Only in the case of service A

Check mounting screws of upper and lower steering damper for leaks.

 Only visual inspection, if leak is found



Replace rack-and-pinion steering.

Check mounting screw of lower steering damper for tightness and retighten, if necessary

 Observe ratcheting direction of torque wrench.

 Tighten as shown in Fig. 2.



Check mounting screw of upper steering damper for tightness and retighten, if necessary

 Carry out tightening procedure as per picture 3.

 The torque wrench must be at an angle of 90° relative to the upper extension.


