	Checking
1	Move universal joints backwards and forwards in both directions of the cross piece and in the rotation direction of the propeller shaft	 The universal joint bearings must not be worn. Slight play is permissible. Recondition universal joints if necessary, or replace propeller shaft - as a separate repair order.
2	Push propeller shaft upwards several times near the collapsible section and move backwards and forwards in the direction of rotation	 The collapsible section must not be worn. Slight play is permissible. Recondition collapsible section if necessary, or replace propeller shaft - as a separate repair order.
3	Check condition of seals on universal joint bearings and collapsible section	 Repair or replace propeller shaft with damaged seals - as a separate repair order.
