Modification notes
| Remove | ||
| Renew all sealing rings | ||
1 | Apply parking brake and loosen wheel nuts slightly | ||
2 | Raise vehicle at the rear axle and place on jack stands | ||
3 | Remove wheels | ||
4 | Drain oil at the wheel hubs | ||
5 | Remove rear wheel hubs (1) | ||
6 | Clean wheel hubs (1) and tapered roller bearings (2, 3) | | |
| Check | ||
7 | Check tapered roller bearings (2, 3) for condition and wear | Worn or damaged tapered roller | |
Renew in pairs | |||
| Install | ||
8 | Install rear wheel hubs (1) | ||
9 | Fill wheel hubs with new oil | ||
10 | Install wheels | Lightly oil wheel bolt threads and sliding surfaces of thrust washer nuts. | |
11 | Lower the vehicle | ||
12 | Tighten wheel nuts | Nut, wheel | |
13 | Push down brake pedal several times |
