Idle speed adjuster - checking and adjusting

Checking



Check adjustment with engine at operating temperature (coolant temperature 70 - 95 °C) and readjust.
Do not adjust when engine is excessively hot, e.g. immediate after high speed operation.

Connect pulse generator and digital tester

Turn knob for idle adjustment in instrument panel all the way to the right

Check distance between nipple and plastic sleeve (arrow). Adjust with adjustment screw

Start engine and warm up to operating temperature

Press accelerator and turn knob for idle speed adjuster all the way to the left. Release accelerator pedal



If the speed is set too high outside of the idle control range the engine rpm can increase up to the maximum speed (unloaded). The increased idle speed must therefore be within the specified range (1000 - 1100 rpm). If not 

adjust with adjustment screw

Turn idle adjustment knob back and shut off engine
