Testing

Remove maintenance flap above engine in interior

Inspect engine brake cylinder, transmission parts and throttle valve shafts for wear

Replace any parts which are not in proper condition subject to separate repair order.

Inspect tight installation of throttle valve levers (10) on throttle valve shafts

Setting

Inspect position of throttle valve shaft in off position

When engine brake is in off position, the notch (11) must be positioned parallel to the flow direction of the exhaust gases.

Start engine and operate engine brake at operating lever in stage 1 (1) and stage 2 (2) with accelerator pedal in full throttle position

Run engine up to maximum revs only when warm.
In the operating position of the engine brake, the notch (11) must be positioned at right angles to the flow direction of the exhaust gases.
