Inspect poly V-belt for wear and damage

Removing

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Remove cover (1)

 Remove pin from expanding clip (2) and remove cover (1).

Detach generator cover



Remove/install generator cover

Checking

Crank engine by hand

 Crank engine 3 times.

Check condition of poly-V-belt of refrigerant compressor (4)

Only with air conditioning Plus, Code I01

 Crank engine a little in direction of rotation of engine, if required: 

- Replace refrigerant compressor poly-V-belt (4) subject to a separate order



Remove/install poly V-belt of compressor

Check condition of poly-V-belt of generator (3)

 Crank engine a little in direction of rotation of engine, if required: 

- Replace alternator poly-V-belt (3) subject to a separate order



Remove/install poly V-belt

Check poly V-belt tension of refrigerant compressor poly-V-belt (4)

Only with air conditioning Plus, Code I01

 Check poly V-belt tension by means of measuring instrument (V-belt tension): refrigerant compressor poly-V-belt (4) retensioning limit: 300 N

 Gauge (V-belt tension)

- Tension refrigerant compressor poly V-belt (4) subject to a separate order, see: 



Remove/install poly V-belt of compressor

Check poly V-belt tension of alternator poly-V-belt (3)

 Check poly V-belt tension by means of measuring instrument (V-belt tension): alternator poly-V-belt (3) retensioning limit: 280 N

 Gauge (V-belt tension)

- Tension alternator poly V-belt (3) subject to a separate order, see: 

Attach generator cover



Remove/install generator cover

Install cover (1)

 Lock lining by means of expanding clip (2) in bore and fasten by pin.
