1 Check valve clearance (arrows) with feeler gage between rocker arm and valve bridge.

Only maintenance: The valve clearance must not be set if it is within the inspection tolerance.

2 Adjust valve clearance (arrows).

For this step slacken locknut (2) and adjust valve clearance with adjusting bolt (1). Afterwards counterhold adjusting bolt (1) and tighten locknut (2) fully.

3 Check again valve clearance, if necessary repeat adjustment.

The valve clearance is correctly set, if it is possible to plunge the feeler gage
with a slight resistance.
