Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Lift vehicle on lifting platform.

 Only use approved lifting platforms as due to the vehicle weight the load capacity is otherwise not provided.

Take off left front wheel

Remove rear part of left front wheelhouse paneling

 Installation: Pay attention to correct seat of wheelhouse paneling. Damaged wheelhouse panelings should be replaced after arrangement with the customer.



Remove/install fender liner in front fender

Check major assemblies

 Ensure that all components seat firmly in the brackets provided for this in order to avoid consequential damage.

 Check ASR charging pump (1), motor/pump unit (2) and lines (3) for condition, leaktightness or porosity. If there are detectable defects the corresponding component must be replaced subject to a separate repair order.

Clean the major assemblies

Only in event of extreme contamination.

 Remove dirt from major assemblies with soapy water and a suitable sponge. Do not use a high-pressure cleaner under any circumstances otherwise water can penetrate the connectors and cause electrical problems.

6.1

Dry the major assemblies

Only after cleaning.

 Dry major assemblies with compressed-air.

Preserve the area

 Preserve the area around the major assemblies and the major assemblies themselves with spray wax.


