Remove

Remove the front headlamp.



Remove the front fender liner.

Remove front bottom crossmember.

 Dispose of the crossmember, the paneling at the bottom of the front bumper and the impact absorber.

Remove front engine compartment lining.



Remove towing eye (21).

 For this purpose, remove bolts (22).
The screws (22) are used for the subsequent installation of the holder (26) on the right-hand side of the vehicle.

Disassemble the front bumper.



Install

Attach the separation line (area A) to the bottom half of the bumper (2).

 Place the separation lines (area A), as shown, between the catch hook (4) and the mounting bracket (3) on the side in question (arrows B).

Make the cut (area A) in the bottom half of the bumper (2).

 Dispose of the remainder of the bottom half of the bumper (2).

Attach sections of the bottom half of the bumper (5) to the top half of the bumper (6).

Attach water hose (7), as shown (arrows C), to the top half of the bumper (6) with cable ties.

Unclip lateral air duct segments (20).

 Dispose of lateral air duct segments (20).

Attach separation lines (area D) to air duct segment (19).

Make cuts (area D) on air duct segment (19).

Attach the towing eye (21) to the longitudinal frame member (24) with the holder (23) and screws (25).

 Use the screws (25) from the installation kit.

Attach the holder (26) to the longitudinal frame member (27) with threaded plate (28) and screws (22).

 To do this, position threaded plate (28) as shown in the longitudinal frame member (27).
Use the previously removed screws (22) from the left-hand side of the vehicle.

Install the front headlamp.



 Position the electrical connectors (12, 17) between the headlamp and body.

Connect the electrical connectors (16) of the electrical wiring harnesses (11) to the electrical connectors (17) of the front right headlamp.

Glue the distributor (15), as shown, to the body.

 To do so, remove the protective foil on the side of the distributor (15) to be glued on.

Connect the electrical connectors (13) of the electrical wiring harnesses (8) to the electrical connectors (12) of the front left headlamp.

Glue the distributor (14), as shown, to the body.

 To do so, remove the protective foil on the side of the distributor (14) to be glued on.

Route the electrical wiring harness (8), as shown, on the front carrier (18) along the left-hand side of the vehicle.

Attach the electrical wiring harness (8) on the front carrier (18) in suitable places with cable ties.

Connect electrical connector (10) to electrical connector (9).

Install the top half of the bumper (6).



Mask off the top half of the bumper (6) in the cross-hatched area.

Install the carrier (29).

 To do so, screw in screws (30).

Enter respective special equipment with noted manufacturing date (1.1) in Vehicle Documentation System (VeDoc).

 To do this, record special equipment with noted manufacturing date (1.1) in VeDoc:
Major assemblies 
Major assembly identification number 
Body.

 Name of the affected special equipment: depending on the version code Y1F (brush guard (bull bar) aluminum anodized) or code Y1G (brush guard (bull bar) aluminum black).

 Attach note "body-styling bar bumper retrofitted as per AN88.30-S-0025P" under field organization texts for DG 88.

Perform SCN coding on 360° camera control unit (N153).
