Remove ground line of battery.



Install

Retrofit platform inlay.

For simultaneous installation of platform inlay.

Note serial number (23).

 The serial number (23) is located in the position shown.

Fix the roll bar (1) in place in a suitable position for pre-assembly.

 Use the packaging of the installation kit for this purpose.

Attach covers (3) to roll bar (1).

 The respective guide pin determines the correct installation position of the covers (3).

Install retaining clips (4) in the roll bar (1).

Attach lock nuts (24) to the roll bar (1).

Attach cover (5) to roll bar (1).

 When doing this, insert guide pin of cover (5) into retaining clip (4).

Attach cover (6) to roll bar (1).

 When doing this, lead electrical wiring harness (7) through cover (6) and insert guide pin of cover (6) into retaining clip (4).

Attach brackets (8) with screws (9), spacers (10), and covers (11) to the roll bar (1).

 Screw in bolts (9) loosely by hand.

Attach brackets (12) with screws (13), spacers (14), and covers (15) to roll bar (1).

 Screw in screws (13) lightly by hand.

Position roll bar (1).

 When doing this, route electrical wiring harness (7) along platform toward rear, but do not fasten yet. A helper is required.

Position fastening clamps (16) with spacer sleeves (18) and screw in screws (17) with washers lightly by hand.

Center roll bar (1) on platform.

 Front alignment with the platform is determined by the brackets (8).

Tighten screws (17).

Tighten screws (9, 13).

Route electrical wiring harness (7) in platform groove to left rear lamp unit installation opening.



Clean

Clean bonding surfaces for fasteners of electrical wiring harness (7) in platform groove.


Bonding surfaces must be free from dust, oil, grease, wax, dirt residues and other adhesive components.
Otherwise, the adhesive effect is impaired.

Cleaner

Attach electrical wiring harness (7) in platform groove.

 To do this, detach protective foils of fasteners and glue on electrical wiring harness (7).

Install electrical wiring harness (19) as shown.

 For this purpose, connect electrical wiring harness (19) of the installation kit with the electrical wiring harness (7) and wind the supplied foam pads around the connected electrical connector.

Connect existing electrical connector of left rear lamp unit with electrical wiring harness (19).

Disconnect electrical connector (21) on right in footwell.

Install electrical wiring harness (22) as shown.


The electrical wiring harness (22) must always be installed on the right side of the vehicle.
Otherwise, electronic component parts will suffer malfunctions and damage.

Order additional electrical wiring harness (22).

Install in the reverse sequence.

Install left rear lamp unit.

Enter special equipment with noted serial number (23) in the Vehicle Documentation (VeDoc).

 To do this, record special equipment with noted serial number (23) in VeDoc:
Major assemblies 
Major assembly identification number 
Body.

 Designation of special equipment in question: code Y1Q (roll bar (styling bar) polished) or code Y1R (roll bar (styling bar) black).

 Attach note "roll bar retrofitted as per AN60.30-S-0028P" under field organization texts for DG 60.

Hand over General Operating Permit for roll bar (1) to customer.


