Select new speed sensor (B17)

The speed sensor (B17) must always be replaced when the tachograph is replaced. Select the new speed sensor (B17) using the parts ordering notes.

Change parameters in the instrument (INS) using STAR DIAGNOSIS

Models 374, 375, 940, 942, 943, 944, 950, 952, 953, 954, 957, 958, 970, 972, 974, 975, 976:
Change the parameters "tachograph selection" under the menu item "display parameterizing" from MTCO to DTCO.

Model 930, 932, 933, 934:
Change the parameter "tachograph selection" under the menu item "parameterization in vehicle equipment" from MTCO to DTCO.

The language download must be performed on the quick test.

Teach in speed sensor (B17)

Only when installing a new speed sensor (B17) or tachograph.

In Germany as per §57b of German vehicle licensing regulations.

Perform tachograph inspection

Only when installing a new speed sensor (B17) or tachograph.

In Germany as per §57b of German vehicle licensing regulations.

Reset tour distance and trip odometer

Reset values in the driver information system (FIS) display, in the trip computer "as of start" and "as of reset".

Document the retrofit on the vehicle data card and in the vehicle documentation system [VeDoc]

The operating instructions for the newly installed tachograph should be issued to the vehicle owner or the driver.
