Fault code | Remedy / repair measure |
| Check heater unit, fuel supply and combustion air supply: Ignition: ON Switch on heater unit again, repeat several times as necessary. If heater has previously functioned normally: - Determine fuel level in fuel tank (intake point of fuel line for heater unit is higher than for injection pump). - Inspect fuel filter and fuel lines (leak-tightness, etc.), repair if necessary. - Check shutoff function of metering pump (intake line to fuel tank may empty). - Inspect glow plug visually (heavy build-up / spiral wound filament open-circuited). If heavy exhaust gas deposit (soot) was present: - Determine fuel level in fuel tank (intake point of fuel line for heater unit is higher than for injection pump). - Inspect fuel filter and fuel lines (leak-tightness, etc.), repair if necessary. - Check shutoff function of metering pump (intake line to fuel tank may empty). - Inspect glow plug visually (heavy deposit/ open-circuit in spiral wound filament ). - Inspect fuel line visually. If no kink or mechanical defect can be determined, remove on heater and check whether fuel is being delivered (possibly blocked). - Inspect heater unit intake and exhaust channels to check they are free. - Combustion air blower power may no longer be sufficient (runs loud, motor bearing squeaks). - Remove heavy carbon deposits in heat exchanger and on exhaust pipe if necessary. - If no faults can be determined, replace control unit (Z13) on trial. |
| Ignition: ON Switch heater unit off then on again. Fault code re-appears: Check quantity of fuel (refer to Repair Instructions). If fuel quantity is in order, refer to remedy / repair measure for fault code . Fault code appears: Refer to remedy / repair measure for fault code . |
| Ignition: ON Allow heater unit to cool down and re-start. Fault code appears: Refer to remedy / repair measure for fault code . Fault codes , or re-appear: - Check whether intake and exhaust channels are free. - Check blower speed (refer to Repair Instructions). - Check fuel quantity (refer to Repair Instructions). If another fault code appears: Carry out appropriate test steps. If no more fault codes appear, check whether heater fuel supply takes place without air entering (check fuel lines for leak-tightness, fuel filter for dirt). |
