The input for the oil temperature sensor at the TCC control module (pins 12, 4) can be checked.

The display starts at 115°C. Therefore this value is also displayed at lower temperatures.

The actual value can be compared with the value from the TCC display instrument on the center waist rail.

If the oil temperature does not rise (no fault code) the oil temperature sensor on the retarder is defective.

If the actual value 12 deviates excessively from the TCC display instrument (no fault code):

– Oil temperature sensor on retarder defective.

– Oil temperature sensor for TCC temperature display (on oil pipe to heat exchanger) defective.

– TCC temperature display instrument or wiring defective.
