- CHECK ENGINE (MIL)
After expiry of test duration and fault
- No activation
- Following two successive driving cycles with faults
3
Checking frequency
Continuous
4
Checked signal or status
Comparison of rpm signals
5
Fault setting conditions
Comparison of the recognized gear and the engaged gear (calculated on the basis of the gear ratio) negative at least 6 times.
6
Check prerequisites
- 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th gear recognized
- engine speed greater than 450 rpm
- output shaft rpm greater than 180 rpm
- no switching.
7
The gear ratios are calculated from the following parameters: rpm signal n2, rpm signal n3 and output shaft rpm (determined from the rear wheel speed).
Faults are detected by the EGS control unit and sent via the CAN data bus to the ME control unit. Storage of faults and actuation of the CHECK ENGINE indicator lamp (MIL) are undertaken by the ME control unit.
