The control module features a fault memory.
Faults are distinguished as follows when they are detected and stored:
Fault exists constantly
Fault exists for more than 3 s
Loose contact fault which has occurred 5 x during a trip
The fault memory is erased if the supply voltage is interrupted, such as disconnecting the battery or unplugging control module connector "1" at vehicle side.
Faults which no longer occur, are erased again automatically after a maximum of 19 trips.
A trip is completed if:
Vehicle speed > 10 km/h
Engine speed > 700 rpm
Engine switched off for 30 s
The stored faults can be read at the diagnostic unit with ignition "ON" or with "engine running" using the HHT.
