AD07.15-W-5001-01D | MR (PLD) troubleshooting fuel intake pressure too low | Engines 904.904-907/921 up to engine end No. 040487 |
Possible cause | Remedy/Testing |
Filter bowl on fuel prefilter leaking (draws in air) | Clean or replace sealing ring/parts and retighten filter bowl |
Fuel supply lines, fuel heat exchanger or connectors leaking (draws in air) | Check fuel supply lines, fuel heat exchanger, replace part or sealing ring and retighten bolted connections |
Protective valve (in protective line) jams in open position or leaking | Connect fuel supply lines directly to fuel pump input and connect fuel return lines directly to bypass valve. Repeat test: If the fuel intake pressure is now in order, replace protective valve or disconnect protective line and seal line opening |
Eliminate cause and repeat test, if the value is still too low | |
Fuel pumps worn or protective valve in fuel supply pump sticks in open position. Driver lever loose or broken | Replace fuel pumps |
